MINUTES OF THE BHCA MEETING 10/27/81

The minutes of the last meeting were read by the acting secretary.

The upcoming grant was discussed. BHCA is required to form a committee to judge and screen applicants for grant money. It was suggested that the committee should contain at least six people.

The treasurers report was then given. As of the meeting BHCA had $561.89.

It was decided to purchase a rubber stamp for mailing purposes.

A tape-slide presentation was announced on "Historic Houses and Restoration." It was to be presented on Friday, November 13, at 8:00 PM in the John B. Miller room of the Centre County Library.

Rob Fisher reported on his progress towards a brochure for BHCA. Peter Salter of the university has offered to design a brochure, logo, letterheads, and envelopes. We would be able to keep control over the expenses. He would like to be finished by February and to have it done by a local printer.

The concerts were discussed next. The following dates and programs have been decided upon:

Nov.- Chamber Music

Jan.- Bellefonte Singers

Feb.- Nittany Knights/Sweet Adelines

Mar.- Nova Concert

Apr.- Harp Music

May-  Juniata Woodwind Quintet

The library has waived the rule not allowing money to change hands in the library. Brochures on the series were to have been drawn up and circulated during the first week of November. Publicity for the series was to include a feature article and photo in the CDT. Also planned to coincide with the concerts were displays in the library.

The last item covered during the meeting was the local history lessons to be developed by the Historic Registration Project (Kim Morrison) for use in County schools. This topic was also placed on the agenda for the November meeting,

Respectfully submitted,

W. Charles Young

Acting Secretary
