Location: The home of Ellen and Alex Dyakiw

Minutes:
The minutes were approved as presented.

Treasurer: Assets: CDs $3460, savings $949, checking $650, total $10,058.  Two Library Concerts in April and May brought in $77.  The treasurer's report was approved as presented.

Arts Administrator: Sarah will begin sending meeting announcements. Because of a committee member snafu, the first Summer Sounds concert was not listed in The Weekender. Sarah took care of it. Those remaining will be listed. The next Gamble Mill Gallery opening will be June 29. Sarah presented membership information on The Art Alliance, a lobbying group formed by PLAN and PRA, of which BHCA has been member for three years. Alex moved and Romayne seconded purchasing a $75 membership. The motion passed.

July's meeting will be a picnic. True volunteered the use of the Fisher summer home on the Susquehanna River. It will be a potluck with the Fishers providing hotdogs, wine and beer. Serious hiking requires long pants and boots and swimmers need shoes, but Jim volunteered to treat any Lyme Disease tick bites on the spot for two times the going rate. (Secretary's note: The picnic was one of those "a-good-time-was-had-by-all" affairs highlighted by Jim's alp horn serenade. Yes, neighbors, that was 'Jingle Bells' echoing across the river in the heat of the night! --R.)

Summer Sounds: Dave T. said the Community Band cancelled its July 4 concert because several members defected to "other commitments" in State College. He noted this would be a great time to form the BHCA Kazoo Band he's always dreamed of. Union scale for the bands has increased $5. Jim moved and Kevin seconded to raise the concert fee to $130. The motion passed.

Victorian Christmas: Alex reported the next meeting will be at 7 p.m. June 30 at the Centre County Library and Historical Museum.

Tiles: Ellen said the drawing is finished and the new tiles will be ready for the Arts and Crafts Fair in August. Melady said BHCA should be on the tile somewhere. The committee will investigate the possibilities and report back.

Library Concerts: Jim noted last season's concerts are still being shown on C-Net.

There were no reports from the Local Government Grants, Old House Fair or Film Forum committees.

The next meeting was set tentatively for September 17 at Peter Schneeman's.  Gay moved and Porter seconded adjournment.

Respectfully submitted,

Romayne V. Naylor
Secretary
