Present: Joan Blasko, True and Rob Fisher, Melady Kehm, Rob Gannon, Dave Eggler (Treasurer), Sarah and Dave Trost, Helen Bechdel, Bob Fenichel, Cheryl DeCusati, Gay and Jim Dunne, Julie Rubin, Diana Keane, John Roberts, Colina Jordan, Peter Schneeman, Mark Van Horn (Secretary).

 

Locale: ADAM & ART Gallery.

 

Meeting called to order at 8:05 PM.

 

Minutes: There were two spelling corrections. Joan Blasko is spelled with an "l", and the $130 Summer Sounds musician is "Tommy Wareham." The minutes were accepted with the corrections.

 

Treasurer's Report: Dave E. stated that over $2,000 was received in the fundraising campaign. Also, a $1,500 PCA grant was received. Finally, Dave announced that nine members have paid their dues. Rob G. moved to accept the report and Mark seconded. The report was accepted.

 

Arts Administrator: True read a letter from the vacationing Rod Bingaman, basically stating that he has made the preparations for the showing of "The Hamster Factor."

 

Film Forum: Gay handed out a list of three upcoming events and explained the details. She added that print ads will run along with flyers for publicity. True took the names of volunteers to help set up for the showing of "The Hamster Factor." True said to formally invite the members of the AME Church to the third film. Colina mentioned that placing flyers in buildings at Penn State would be good for publicity.

 

Library Concerts: Jim said that it was a very successful and well attended season. Also, a thank-you letter will be sent.

 

Gamble Mill Gallery. Dave E. said that the last show's reception was very big and all the food was gone in 30 minutes. He added that the two media went well together. Also, a permanent BHCA sign will be hung in the gallery, with the title of the running show. The next show is "Perspectives of Central PA." with three woman artists and opens in mid­to-late June. The schedule is booked almost through 1998.

 

Old House Fair: Sarah said the Garman Opera House will be the location and the fair will be on June 28.

 

Garden Tour: Melady asked if BHCA will be sharing a booth with the Garden Club. She said that BHCA should be there to provide information on events.

 

Summer Sounds: Melady listed the groups appearing this summer and said that three of the bands are new.

 

Artscape: Diane said that the Studio and Gallery Tour will be concurrent with the Centre County Arts Festival. It was agreed that Sunday will be the day for the event. She read a list of nine or 10 artists who will be participating. Tickets, program and map will be on one sheet. These will be nine dollars and will be available at Woodring's and ADAM & ART. Diane said that ads will run in several area publications and flyers will be distributed. She also said that people will be needed to help with these tasks.

 

Intermission: A cake and song were brought out for Dave Eggler's 57th birthday which was yesterday.

 

Other Notes: Sarah and Dave will host the June 13 meeting at their home. The DeCusatis will host in September. There is a big show opening at ADAM & Art on June 8. This show features Bellefonte Artists.

 

Adjournment: Cheryl moved and Sarah seconded to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 9:20 PM.
