Members present: Mark Houser (Arts Administrator), Sara Jarvis (Recording Secretary), Erin McCall (Corresponding Secretary), Dave Eggler (official officiator & treasurer), True Fisher, Romayne Naylor, Jim & Gay Dunne, Colina Jordan, Ralph Seeley, JoAnn Knupp (Vice President)

 

 

Minutes from previous meeting (2/19/07):

Dave moved to accept; Ralph 2nd

 

Treasurer’s report (at end of minutes):

§         See report

§         $1696 received in donations from the letter that was sent out late last year/early this year

§         Dave moved to accept; Romayne 2nd

 

Arts Administrator’s Report:

§         By-Laws: need to find another attorney to review them since Claire hasn’t responded to any of the phone calls

§         Suggested attorneys: Chuck Brown, Denny Mason, Mark Faulkner

§         Colina will talk to Mark Faulkner and let True and Mark know what he says

 

Library Concerts:

§         Nothing new to report

 

Gallery at Gamble Mill:

§         New show going up on 4/19 with reception on 4/22

§         Postcard is being worked on

 

Summer Concerts:

 

Talleyrand Park:

 

Victorian Christmas:

§         Nothing to report

 

Miscellaneous:

§         Local government grants

o       Gay: deadline is 4/19

o       Grant is up on the website now

§         Elections committee

o       Nothing to report

§         BHCA logo

o       Jim and Dave both passed around logos for us to review

o       Dave: would like to see something that can be done in black and white as well as color

§         Poetry readings

o       Colina: nothing to report.  This fall or next summer might be a better time to work on this project.

§         Increasing membership

o       Mark: we don’t have many email addresses or phone numbers from the people that mail in donations, etc.  We might have to split up the list and look up numbers

o       Mark will bring the list to the next meeting and we can discuss splitting it up.

 

New Business

§         Gay invited two guests—Cynthia Mazzant and Jim Colbert

o       Cynthia is the Artistic & Education Director of Tempest Studios

o       Jim is an Art Director, copywriter, singer/songwriter, and DJs the Folk Show for WPSU

 

Next meeting: Tuesday, April 29th at Bellefonte Cool Beans at 7 pm
