BHCA Meeting

Present: Keith Koch, President, Romayne Naylor, Vice President, Jim Dunne, Secretary, Dave Eggler, Treasurer, Sally Houser, Jeanne Newlin, Gay Dunne, Joseph Griffin, Colina Seeley, Joanne Tosti-Vasey, Mary Vollero, Art Curtze, Nancy Noll, Dave Kurtz, Melady Kehm. A quorum was in attendance as defined by the BHCA bylaws.

Minutes - Minutes of 9/25/13 and 9/29/13 were approved.

Treasurers Report (Dave Eggler, below) - Approved.

Motion to contribute $1000 to Bellefonte Victorian Christmas to support 2 additional members of the Dickens Troupe was approved (Jeanne, Gay)

Summer Sounds: No report

Sunday Afternoons at the Library: Sundays, 2:30 PM at CC Library & Historical Museum: November 17 - AIR DYNAMICS! : A flute quartet and harp

Gallery at the Gamble Mill:
The Perry Winkler Studio - September 14 - January 11
Senior Students of Centre County Schools January 12 - April 12

Bellefonte Victorian Christmas (Sally Houser, Romayne Naylor, Jim Dunne) - 28,000 guides will be distributed into 32 other counties. The Middle School venue for the Arts & Crafts Show has been moved out of the gymnasium due to a gymnastic meet. We will request the main entrance hall, the library hall & the cafeteria. Middle School activities include a model train display, children’s activities and a child safety program.

Talleyrand Park Committee (True Fisher) - Email report by True : We received a $12,000 grant to continue the stream bank restoration and protection from erosion. Duplication of signs will be addressed. We will receive a donation of trees & shrubs in the spring. During the Day of Caring high school students painted the bridges. Keith reported that the railroad bridge will be repaired and repainted.

Bylaws - Joanne TV reported that they are still being reviewed by the committee.

The Garman - Mary V. Reported that information packets will be will be hand delivered to and discussed with each Borough Council member and the Mayor prior to the Borough Council meeting on November 4. Sally will canvas downtown merchants to encourage letter writing and obtain a signed petition requesting a delay or denial of demolition.. Oral presentations to Council were discussed. Colina reminded us that negative discussion by our group can have negative consequences and that we should keep our comments positive.

Old House Fair - Melady(chair), Jeanne, Colina, Joanne TV committee members. We reviewed past fairs, vendors and the diverse topics. Resources for a future fair: Nancy Perkins, Sue Hannegan, Erin Hammerstedt.

Next Meeting - November 22, 7 PM, at the home of Colina & Ralph Seeley, 420 Millgate Road
